With half term fast approaching, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed planning a fun-packed week that’ll keep little ones entertained (and away from screens!). Luckily there’s an unbelievable amount on offer for families in and around Brighton, so Koru Kids have put together some of their favourites into this nifty little half term guide.
Brighton Half Term Guide: Outdoor Activities
Washbrooks Family Farm
A 20 minute drive from Brighton, Washbrooks Family Farm features Highland cows, guinea pigs and peacocks, amongst other animals. The onsite tearoom serves afternoon tea, jacket potatoes and a range of sandwiches.
The Storyboard Walk
Running from the 18th February to 13th March 2022, this outdoor game, story and walk all in one is a fun and unique activity to get involved with in Brighton this half-term. In conjunction with Balfour Primary School, the Storyboard Walk is a fun way of exploring talking about our emotions, in line with the national wellbeing curriculum. Newhaven Fort
This award winning fort in Newhaven features exhibitions and is great for hands-on learning for kids. Children can explore the echoing tunnels and learn about how the fort was used during the two world wars. The fort reopens on the 12th February; you can book tickets online here.
Blackberry Farm, Lewes
If you’re looking for a jam packed day out, Blackberry Farm in Lewes is definitely worth the mini road trip. With animal handling sessions, tractor and pony rides throughout the day and indoor play areas in case of poor weather, little ones are guaranteed to fall asleep in the car journey home.
Brighton Half Term Guide: Indoor Activities
Fatto a Mano
With 3 locations in Brighton, Fatto a Mano’s homemade pizzas are a firm favourite with families in and around the city. Pizzas are cooked at 450 degrees in traditional ovens for 90 seconds, for that true Neapolitan taste. Their children’s menu includes a pizza and gelato for just £5 for under 11s.
Booth Museum of Natural History
Entry is free to this museum filled with butterflies, fossils and birds—the perfect day out for any natural history obsessed kids!
The Flour Pot Bakery
Specialising in delicious artisan pastries, cakes and bread, the Flour Pot Bakery is a great spot to visit if you fancy a treat. Visiting on a Friday is a must for their weekly surprise doughnut, made of light and fluffy brioche dough (are you drooling yet?!)
Jo & Co
Served until 3pm, brunch at Jo & Co in Hove is a must for half term. The designated children’s menu features build your own pancakes and a flatbread and crudités platter.
