With a remarkable 98% pass rate at A level, the college has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence in education. Over 52% of these grades were awarded at A* to B, with a quarter achieving the prestigious A* or A grades – the highest in the college’s history.
The success doesn’t stop there! Varndean’s vocational programme also boasts a 98% pass rate, with more than half of the students achieving top honours of Distinction or Distinction*. These stellar results underscore the college’s strength and diversity across its wide range of courses.
Varndean College prides itself on being an inclusive, non-selective institution, drawing students from Brighton, Hove, and Sussex. The college offers a broad curriculum, including A levels, vocational qualifications, and the esteemed International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. This year, IB students have excelled, with one student achieving the maximum score of 45, placing them in the top 1% worldwide. An impressive 38% of IB students scored over 36 points, equivalent to AAA at A level, and 13% secured 40 points or more, equivalent to A* A* A.
