Dive into the vibrant world of art as Brighton welcomes a new artistic hub, KMA Gallery, set to open this April. The gallery finds its home in the historic Dockerills site, a former hardware store that served the community for over a century. While it’s sad to bid farewell to Dockerills, this transition marks a new chapter in Brighton’s rich cultural tapestry.
KMA Gallery, established by Kellie Miller 11 years ago, is renowned for its eclectic collection of original artworks. The move to Dockerills’ site will double the gallery’s size, allowing it to showcase a wider range of paintings, ceramics, and sculptures. The gallery will span two floors, offering art enthusiasts a more immersive experience.
The Dockerills family, who have a deep respect for the arts, handpicked KMA to take over their retail space. This new gallery will not only increase the scale and breadth of artworks on offer but also provide new event and collaboration opportunities within the local community.
Kellie Miller, a University of Brighton alumna and professional artist since 1994, has always aimed to connect independent artists with audiences worldwide. This move will undoubtedly further that mission.
As we at Sawyer & Co are passionate about supporting local businesses and community initiatives, we’re excited to see how KMA Gallery will further enrich Brighton’s cultural scene. Whether you’re a local or planning to move to our vibrant city, KMA Gallery is a must-visit. And if you’re looking for a home near this new artistic hub, we’re here to help you find the perfect property.
So, mark your calendars for April and prepare to be inspired by the diverse range of local, national, and international art at KMA Gallery!
