Historic Rolls-Royce Returns for Iconic Run

This autumn, the world’s oldest surviving Rolls-Royce is set to grace British roads once more, taking part in the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. This remarkable 1904 Rolls-Royce, known as chassis 20154, will first make a grand appearance at the St James’s Motoring Spectacle on Pall Mall on October 31st, before embarking on the famous 60-mile journey from London to Brighton on November 1st.

Chassis 20154 holds a unique place in automotive history as the oldest known surviving Rolls-Royce. Its return to the London to Brighton Run is particularly special, marking its first participation in decades following a meticulous three-year restoration. This painstaking effort has restored the car to its original splendour, complete with its primrose yellow hue, earning it top honours at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

The St James’s Motoring Spectacle promises to be a visual feast, featuring over 80 exceptional pre-1905 vehicles. Set against the iconic backdrop of Pall Mall, the event will offer enthusiasts a rare opportunity to admire this piece of motoring history. The following day, the Rolls-Royce will join hundreds of veteran vehicles in the world’s longest-running motoring event, celebrating the dawn of motoring and the abolition of the restrictive four mph speed limit.

For those passionate about automotive heritage, this is a chance to witness a living piece of history. At Sawyer & Co, we appreciate the value of preserving history, whether it’s a classic car or a cherished home. If you’re looking for a property that combines history with modern luxury, we’re here to help you find your perfect match.
