Summer is heating up, and what better way to cool off than by making waves for a good cause? Rockinghorse Children’s Charity is thrilled to announce The Big Splash, a brand-new swimming event for kids aged 7 to 14, set to make a splash on Sunday, 5th July at the stunning Sea Lanes on Brighton seafront. This exciting event offers young swimmers the chance to dive into the action, choosing from distances of 200m, 400m, or 800m, all while raising funds to support children across Sussex.
Jules Billings, Fundraising Manager for Rockinghorse, shares, “We’ve seen the popularity of our 12-hour Rockinghorse Relay, and we wanted to create a similar experience for younger swimmers. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong passion for charity in young people while they enjoy showcasing their swimming skills in this fantastic venue.”
Generously sponsored by Hurst College, The Big Splash is divided into age-appropriate sessions: 7-9 years, 10-12 years, and 13-14 years, ensuring that every swimmer competes alongside peers. Each participant will receive a special medal and certificate to commemorate their achievement.
With a sign-up fee of just £25 and a minimum fundraising target of £50, this event promises not only a day of fun with music and food but also an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity for your child to swim in a national open water swimming centre, just a stone’s throw from the beach. For more details and to secure your spot, visit the Rockinghorse website.
And remember, if you’re considering a move to this vibrant community, we at Sawyer & Co are here to help you find your perfect home.
