Get ready to turn up the heat, Brighton! From 29–31 May 2026, our beloved shoreline will host the first-ever Brighton Sauna Festival. This sizzling event promises to transform our iconic beach into a haven of warmth and wellness, drawing sauna enthusiasts from near and far.
Organised by the British Sauna Society, the festival celebrates Brighton’s historic role in the UK’s sauna culture, harking back to Victorian times when coastal wellness was all the rage. With over 20 mobile saunas, including quirky setups like horseboxes and trucks, visitors will be spoilt for choice. Local favourites such as Beach Box Spa and Nomadic will be there, offering unique sauna experiences for up to 180 guests per session.
The festival isn’t just about sweating it out; it’s a full sensory experience. Renowned DJ Rob Da Bank will keep the vibes electric with live sets each evening, culminating in Full Moon celebrations over the weekend. The event’s schedule mirrors the coastal sun, with sessions ranging from serene morning meditations to vibrant evening gatherings.
Expect a blend of traditional sauna rituals and modern twists, with activities like leaf whisking and Aufguss alongside breathwork, meditation, and dance. Whether you’re a seasoned sauna-goer or a curious newcomer, there’s something for everyone.
The festival reaches its zenith on Sunday, 31 May, under a rare Full Blue Moon, promising a magical end to this inaugural event. Tickets are available exclusively through the Lowlu app, so be sure to download it and secure your spot.
At Sawyer & Co, we love seeing Brighton embrace its heritage while welcoming new traditions. Whether you’re visiting for the festival or considering a move to our vibrant city, we’re here to help you find your perfect home by the sea.
