Get your knitting needles ready, Brighton & Hove! The beloved innocent Big Knit campaign is back in action, and it’s time to stitch your way to making a difference. This delightful initiative, in partnership with Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, invites local knitting enthusiasts to craft charming little hats for innocent smoothie bottles. Each behatted bottle sold contributes 30p to Age UK, supporting essential services for older people in our community.

Since its inception in 2003, the Big Knit has raised a staggering £3.6 million for Age UK. This year’s campaign is ambitiously aiming for 1.5 million hats by October 2027, with the smoothies set to hit the shelves in early 2028. Imagine the impact of your knitting prowess as you help fund vital services like Age UK’s helpline, which answers a call every four minutes from individuals in need—providing advice, friendship, and support to those who are lonely, bereaved, or living in poverty.

Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or a newbie, this is your chance to get creative. Dive into the fun with patterns inspired by fruits and veggies—think aubergines, carrots, and peas in a pod! There’s plenty of time to get involved, and for those with larger donations, collection can be arranged.

For more details, visit the Big Knit page or contact Age UK WSBH directly. And while you’re at it, if you’re considering a move or need property advice, we at Sawyer & Co are always here to help with your estate and letting needs. Let’s knit together for a brighter future!
