Nestled at 50a Gloucester Road, this free family-friendly venue invites children and grown-ups to step away from screens and immerse themselves in the world of art. Officially launched by the beloved Brighton-based children’s author and illustrator Nick Sharratt, the space promises to be a haven of creativity and connection.

Open every Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 3pm throughout September, the Hopscotch Art Space is a treasure trove of artistic materials and activities. Whether it’s drawing, painting, or collage, children up to 11 years old can explore their creative side alongside their grown-ups. With no booking required and no charge, it’s a splendid opportunity for families to bond over shared artistic endeavours.

The inspiration behind this creative initiative came from Hopscotch CEO Philip Ford, who envisioned a space where creativity and connection take precedence over technology. With art space host Kate Hager at the helm, visitors are warmly welcomed to this nurturing environment. The art space will be open until November 2026, coinciding with Hopscotch’s sponsorship of the Amaze Story Trail, further encouraging families to dive into the joys of creativity.

Accommodating approximately 15 adults and 15 children, entrance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, ensuring an intimate and engaging experience.
