The CQC Deputy Director of Operations in East Sussex commended the service for its exceptional approach to rebuilding confidence and independence among residents. The staff’s dedication to understanding each individual’s strengths and goals, and their creative methods to help achieve these, were highlighted as key factors in the home’s success. An example of their innovative approach is the organisation of an art exhibition, curated by the residents themselves, which significantly boosted their confidence and sense of accomplishment.
The collaboration between Sackville Gardens and healthcare professionals was also praised, ensuring seamless care and support for residents. Feedback from healthcare professionals was overwhelmingly positive, with many noting the staff’s prompt and proactive communication.
Rachael Kenny, Director of Mental Health and Support Services at BHT Sussex, expressed her delight at the repeated recognition, attributing the success to the hard work and dedication of the team. The introduction of the innovative Step-Down service, aiding the transition of individuals from hospital to home, has also been a significant development, alleviating pressure on NHS services.
