A new pub in Brighton is offering a unique opportunity for young people with learning disabilities and autism. The North Star, located on Pavilion Parade, is not just any pub—it’s a beacon of hope and empowerment. All profits from this venture are dedicated to funding Team Domenica, a local charity that has been tirelessly working since 2016 to equip this group with vital work skills.

The pub’s grand opening will be graced by Baroness Rosa Monckton MBE, the visionary behind Team Domenica. She founded the charity in honour of her daughter, Domenica, who has Down’s syndrome. This new establishment is more than just a place to enjoy a drink; it’s a community hub where young people can gain real-world hospitality experience.

Above the pub, a dedicated centre is being created by Team Domenica. This centre will offer a blend of classroom education, enrichment activities, and hands-on training, providing a holistic approach to learning and personal development. It’s an inspiring initiative that promises to make a real difference in the lives of many.

The project has garnered support from Gavin George, a trustee of Team Domenica and co-founder of The Laine Pub Company. His involvement underscores the community’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and opportunity.
