As the UK basks in its third summer heatwave, with temperatures soaring to a sizzling 33°C, many are flocking to the coast for some much-needed sun and sea. Brighton, our beloved Sussex gem, has been ranked among the UK’s best seaside locations to soak up the sunshine, according to a new study by the Co-operative Bank.
The study analysed seaside towns across the UK, ranking them based on beach count, walkability, safety, and sunshine. Brighton proudly claims the tenth spot on this list. With highs of 25°C expected this weekend and an average of 4.6 hours of daily sunshine, Brighton is a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy the sun, sea, and sand.
Leading the pack is Falmouth, crowned the UK’s best seaside town with a score of 8.38/10. Known for its harbour charm and high walkability score of 92, Falmouth offers 4.5 hours of sunshine and access to 142 Cornwall beaches, making it a prime location to enjoy the heatwave.
