In a delightful twist of holiday spirit, a Brighton refuge found itself joyfully overwhelmed with Christmas parcels this year. Daisy Upton, the beloved parenting influencer known as Five Minute Mum, rallied her impressive 300,000-strong following on Instagram and Facebook to support Stonewater Housing’s refuge. For the past five years, Daisy has been a steadfast supporter of this vital cause, and this year, she truly outdid herself.
By sharing Stonewater’s Amazon wishlist on her social media platforms, Daisy inspired her followers to donate more than 1,500 parcels, along with enough gift cards for every survivor supported by Stonewater’s refuges and dispersed properties across England. This remarkable generosity nearly doubled the contributions from previous years, showcasing the power of community and compassion.
Stonewater’s domestic abuse services are a beacon of hope for survivors, offering safe, inclusive, and empowering support to a diverse range of individuals. Their services extend to women, men, children, the LGBTQ+ community, minoritised communities, and those with complex needs. The influx of Christmas parcels is a testament to the community’s dedication to uplifting and supporting those in need.
As we celebrate this heartening success, it’s a reminder of the incredible impact that collective goodwill can have. At Sawyer & Co, we’re proud to be part of a community that rallies together in times of need. If you’re looking to make a positive difference in Brighton, whether through housing or community support, we’re here to help guide you every step of the way.
