Age UK West Sussex, Brighton and Hove (WSBH) is making waves in the local community, ensuring older residents of Crawley have the time of their lives. Recently, Councillor Sue Mullins, Cabinet member for Community Engagement and Culture, paid a visit to one of their lively group get-togethers in Northgate. Her visit was an opportunity to see firsthand how the charity is utilising its community grant funding from Crawley Borough Council to enrich the lives of older people.
On the day of her visit, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as Age UK WSBH hosted a delightful Crawley Film Club and Cream Tea session. These gatherings are just a snippet of the various friendly meet-ups and fun sessions the charity offers, all designed to foster social connections and enhance physical and mental wellbeing.
Crawley Borough Council has generously awarded £23,500 to Age UK WSBH for the 2025 to 2026 period. This funding is a lifeline that will enable the charity to continue its invaluable work, supporting volunteers and expanding its services and community outreach initiatives. Among these initiatives are community pop-ups, which aim to raise awareness and guide residents to a plethora of support services and activities.
One such event is the upcoming Winter Warm Up at K2 Crawley on 16 October. This event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for residents to learn about the support available to them while enjoying a day of warmth and camaraderie.
At Sawyer & Co, we understand the importance of community and well-being. If you’re considering a move to this vibrant area, our team is here to help you find the perfect home to enjoy all that Crawley has to offer.
