Brighton is flexing its fitness muscles with the grand opening of a brand-new outdoor gym in Wish Park! This exciting addition marks the third outdoor gym to grace the city’s parks in just a year, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Brighton & Hove City Council. The gym, which boasts an impressive 10-piece setup, is set to officially open this Saturday, offering locals a fantastic opportunity to get fit in the great outdoors.
Designed by the creative minds at Friends of Wish Park, this gym features an 8ft body weight resistance unit that promises to challenge and engage fitness enthusiasts of all levels. To ensure everyone gets the most out of the new equipment, experts from Kompan Fitness will be on hand during the opening from 11:00 to 12:00 GMT, ready to offer tips and guidance.
Councillor Alan Robins expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Providing opportunities for our residents to stay active and improve their health is a huge priority for us. Therefore, I’m delighted to see another outdoor gym now up and running in one of our popular parks.”
This opening is part of the council’s broader play renovation plan, which has already brought workout spaces to Preston Park and Victoria Recreation Ground. With such fantastic facilities now available, there’s never been a better time to embrace an active lifestyle in Brighton.
