Saltdean Lido, in Brighton, is rolling out the red carpet for our four-legged friends with its delightful ‘Dogtember’ event! Starting from the weekend of September 14th, the lido will open its gates for 15 fantastic dog swimming sessions, running through to early October.

Every Saturday and Sunday, pups can splash about in the 40-metre heated pool or take it easy in the gently-sloping splash pool. For those who prefer a quieter dip, there’s a special 60-minute session at 5pm limited to just 50 dogs. With sessions at 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, there’s plenty of time for every pooch to enjoy the fun.

But it’s not just about swimming! The lido offers a variety of water features like slides and water spouts, and there’s plenty of grassy areas for those post-swim zoomies. If your pup needs a quick dry-off, the lido has got you covered with a drying service and a range of stalls to explore.

Dog owners can join in the fun too, but remember to grab a swim ticket if you’re planning to take a dip, or a spectator ticket if you’re just there to supervise. Sessions will be held on September 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, 29, and October 5 and 6.

A spokesman for Saltdean Lido said: “Once you’re through the gate, you can let your humans off their lead and run, jump, slide, swim, and splash to your heart’s content within our secure site.”

This paw-some event is a fundraiser run by volunteers, complete with professional lifeguards, vet advice from The Mewes Vets, and dog first-aiders on site. However, XL Bullies will not be allowed due to safety concerns.

Get ready for a tail-wagging good time at Saltdean Lido this ‘Dogtember’!
