Brighton and Hove’s culinary scene has received a delicious accolade, with four local bakeries being named among the best in the UK by the prestigious French ranking and restaurant guide, La Liste. The Flour Pot Bakery, Julien Plumart, Real Patisserie, and Sugardough have all earned their spot on this esteemed list, showcasing the crème de la crème of pastry shops and bakeries.

La Liste’s 2024 edition of the Pastry Special Awards highlighted 25 winners across 10 award categories, with Darcie Maher’s Lannan in Edinburgh being the only UK award recipient. However, the guide also compiled a list of the top 3,000 pastry shops and bakeries worldwide, which can be explored via an interactive map on the La Liste app. Impressively, 198 of these top spots are in the UK, with Brighton and Hove proudly hosting four of them.
